SUMMARY:

Use accounting background to capture operations of Sooter Consulting Clients per provided Work Order


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Understand and perform all necessary bookkeeping functions

    1. Maintain and record Client transactions, utilizing the accountant’s tools available

    2. Balance ledgers and reconciles accounts

    3. Strong understanding of how transactions should be treating based on entity

    4. Advanced knowledge of debits and credits

    5. Understands both cash and accrual basis accounting, includes understanding bad debt

    6. Review ledger for outstanding information in accounts and contacts clients for clarification

    7. Review Financial Statements, find and fix discrepancies before QC review

    8. Manage client Files that may include, but not limited to, deposits, expenses, credit card allocation, inventory, payroll, client reports, job costing, and process sales tax reports.


Understand how to import transactions via CSV files


Understand and performs the mapping structure in QBO


Run regular reports as well as create and run custom reports as needed

Ad Hoc, as directed


Manage the entire process for YE, including issuing 1099s and reconciling 1099s to client books


Responsible for communicating with client independently, in a timely manner in a way most convenient for the client.


- Can start and host a web video meeting

- Ability to analyze and share results via Video


Meet budgeted hour requirements while meeting all deadlines


Maintains confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and financial records.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge in all areas of Accounting. Computer skills to include Proficient working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor Required), and working knowledge of social networking tools. Must have prior experience in accounting. Experience in accounting for Insurance industries is a plus.


Abilities: Must communicate clearly and concisely both orally and written. Must be a good listener – demonstrating courtesy and care. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead the work of others. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision, but a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works independently and as part of a team. Must have moderate to advanced computer skills.


Education and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4-6 years of practical hands-on work experience in accounting, specifically AP, AR, and payroll. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting. Open to new ideas, comfortable with change.

Work is performed indoors with some potential exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. As this is a remote position, the employee must have space conducive to upholding privacy of the information they will be exposed to.


The position works remotely and limited travel is required, less than 10%.
